Datacenter Outage
03-28-2008
Our datacenter had power issues this morning so we were down for a few hours (about 8:30AM to 10:30AM). Everthing is back up and running now and we're weeding through server logs to make sure everything is nice and stable. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
Spam Blocking
02-01-2008
After a few months of testing, we've seen great results with our greylisting setup using the OpenBSD spamd filter. Because of the large amount of spam we've see on the hutman.net domain, we'll be enabling greylisting by default for all hutman.net email addresses starting this weekend. If you see any issues, please contact us with details. If you have your own domain and would like to enable greylisting for your domain, please contact us and we'll make the change.

05-31-2007

From a recent CERT Advisory notice "The Mozilla web browser and derived products contain several vulnerabilities, the most severe of which could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on an affected system."

Most recent Mozilla packages will automatically update themselves. If you're running an older version, we'd recommend visiting mozilla.org and updating your software.

See the mozilla security announc e site for more details.

Windows Animated Cursor Security Advisory
03-30-2007
There appears to be a new Windows vulnerability which is being actively exploited. Machines can be compromised by simply viewing a malicious web page or email. The Microsoft advisory is available at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/935423.mspx . As always, we recommend the use of Firefox instead of Internet Explorer to avoid many of the common security problems associated with IE.
