Offsite Backup and Data Storage
Keeping your data safe is a deceptively difficult job. Juggling tapes or removable drives is the first job to be forgotten when things get busy and discovering a problem with your backups after you've lost something important can be a nightmare. We offer storage space on our system which can support a variety of backup systems. You can use standard protocols to manage your data including FTP, SCP, Rsync or WebDAV. We also run a BoxBackup server and can design a remote backup server to give you a complete bare metal and historical data solution.
Here are a few tools we like for managing backups:
- BoxBackup http://www.fluffy.co.uk/boxbackup/
A complete system for managing incremental remote backups. All data traffic and storage is encrypted and intelligent filesystem scanning provides continuous backup service with very efficient bandwidth usage. - cwRsync http://itefix.no/cwrsync/
A nice packaging of cygwin and Rsync for Windows. For a smaller system, this tool along with some scripting to provide email reports makes a robust and network efficient backup solution. - rdiff-backup http://www.nongnu.org/rdiff-backup/
If your backup tool doesn't provide any incremental backup functionality, we'll be happy to create daily archives of your storage folder in order to keep some history without chewing up too much space.
